It's like everyone tells a story about themselves inside their own head. Always. All the time. That story makes you what you are. We build ourselves out of that story.”

― Patrick Rothfuss, The Name of the Wind

Who

We Are

We have often been referred to as the land of the free” because of our longstanding commitment to the principles of freedom, equality, and justice. As Americans we enjoy free speech, freedom of the press, and religious freedoms. We can express opinions and beliefs without fear of persecution. We are also free to realize our dreams. We sing about it, pledge allegiance to it, celebrate it, and enjoy it.

I have written a book about us. Discovering who we are. It’s about us in a rapidly changing America. One that has been changing and shifting as we have gone about our lives. No single story, or single person, or single location, or idea defines us. Our lives, our communities and cultures, are composed of many overlapping stories.
